About Alpha

Alpha provides Office Supplies, Furniture, Flooring, Janitorial Supplies, Paper, Computers & Accessories; Electrical Supplies, including energy efficient lighting and sustainable energy products, and related services: Desktop delivery, Installation, Space planning, Project-management, and Document Management Solutions, to government, non-profit and commercial entities. In 2011, Alpha received the Exelon Supplier of the Year award and was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine on their BE 100 nation’s largest minority owned and operated industrial/service company list, ranking #79.

History

Alpha, established in 1985, by Mr. James Brown, Founder and Chairman who possessed over 50 years of experience in the office products and related services. Mr. Brown assembled an experienced staff of professionals who have established Alpha as a premier company in our very competitive industry.

The company has established business relationships with the U.S. GSA - National Furniture Center, various states and cities, major hospitals, universities, schools, hotels, large corporations, small businesses, and several majority company joint venture partnerships. Alpha’s business alliances enable the firm to service customers throughout the U.S., and internationally. Alpha maintains a facility of over 30,000 square feet of office, showroom and warehouse space; and 38,000+ square foot (secured & fenced) exterior storage space. Our transportation fleet delivers orders to our client’s doorstep/desktop next day.

Products and Services

OFFICE & FACILITY SUPPLIES: We provide and deliver office and janitorial supplies directly to many customers in the PA-NJ-DE tri-state area with our fleet of trucks. An area outside the tri-state, Alpha utilizes other transportation methods to allow our clients next day delivery. Alpha’s technical advantages include convenient online catalog ordering, EDI and automated credit card processing. Alpha also has a partnership with Staples to provide office supplies & furniture to our national accounts such as Independence Blue Cross, PRWT, BCBSMA, Lockheed Martin, Lowes Hotels, and Highmark.

FURNITURE: In 2010, Alpha received the distinguishing recognition of ranking #28 on the GSA Federal governments “Top 100 Supplier of Office Furniture sold to the United States Government” list. We work with many office furniture manufacturers, including Knoll, Paoli, HON, Global, Community, 9 to 5 seating, and DMI. Alpha provides design, space-planning, project management, delivery and installation of furniture and accessories. Current furniture customer references include City of Philadelphia, Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, PRWT, School District of Philadelphia, Fort Dix, U.S. IRS, and Fox Chase Cancer Center.

FLOORING: Alpha provides several different types of flooring including Broadloom Carpet, Carpet tiles, VCT and customized vinyl. Flooring manufacturers we work with include KARNDEAN, Milliken, Interface, Shaw, Mohawk, AZUVI, Bentley-Prince Street and ROPPE. Flooring supply and installation references include University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Phillies New Ballpark, Fort Brag Army Base, Temple University Education Building, University of Pennsylvania, and the City of Philadelphia.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS: Alpha and Conversion Technologies International, Inc. (CTI) have partnered together to provide a full service document conversion center, from scanning to “green” destruction. We are a leader in Document Management Solutions such as, Media/Data/Legacy Migration, Data Entry & Indexing, Workflow Management, Scanners & Data Capture, Document Conversion Services and Software Consulting. This unique partnership allows Alpha to fully support our customers’ demands to lower their paper/ink usage by converting documents to digital formats.

ELECTRIC SUPPLIES: Alpha and several large Electric Supply Distribution/firms have partnered to provide an array of electrical supplies, lighting and energy savings opportunities for our clients. Our partners have huge inventories combined with Alpha’s transportation fleet to provide product delivery services throughout the country. We specialize in processing for our clients Federal Reserve Tax deductions and State energy rebates, which equate to cost reductions and additional dollars to our clients.

TOTAL DAYLIGHT MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS: ALPHA and Kay and Sons, LLC have partnered to provide our clients with Daylight Management Systems, Energy Saving Solar Shading products, Lighting Controls, and Sustainable solutions designed to reduce energy consumption and cost. Kay and Sons, have been in business since 1922 providing total light management solutions.

Through the establishment of strategic partnerships with companies like Knoll, Staples, Milliken, Interface Carpet, and Karndean, Alpha will continue to develop products and services that provide its customers with substantial advantages in the marketplace.
